Soft tones mixed with ecstatically vibrant colors, and cityscapes primarily empty of people, yet vibrating with a feeling of presence and life! This is the work of illustrator, painter, and mixed-media artist Whitney Sanford. These must be some of the most whimsical maximalist renderings of architecture and cities I’ve ever seen. But the thing that just takes my breath away (besides that fabulous color) is the powerful way this artist captures the feeling of being in each of these places at a particular moment. I just love the feeling of quiet contemplation, solace (with the awareness of a public sheltered out of sight), and absolute magic that these exquisite compositions contain.
